Medtronic to Distribute Viz.ai’s Stroke Detection and Notification Software

Medtronic announced plans to distribute Viz.ai’s artificial-intelligence-based stroke detection software, which links to existing CT scanners, identifies large vessel occlusions (which are associated with acute ischemic stroke) and notifies physicians of positive results via a smartphone app. As time is brain in stroke care, accelerating diagnosis and intervention for LVOs is critical to improving patient outcomes.

Medtronic markets a line of neurovascular treatment devices, including the Solitaire X revascularization device.
