Mortimer Berkowitz III

President & CEO

Mr. Berkowitz is founder, President and CEO of InnovaHealth Partners, LP. He has 25 years of healthcare private equity investing. He founded HealthpointCapital in 2002 and prior to that, he had spent more than 20 years in private equity and investment banking.

Mr. Berkowitz is Lead Director of Alphatec Spine, Inc., a role to which he was elected following his yearlong strategic effort to develop the new organization, which culminated with Pat Miles’ appointment as Executive Chairman. He also serves as Chairman of OrthoSpace, Ltd. and was formerly Chairman of Blue Belt Technologies, Inc. and BioHorizons, Inc. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of BioHorizons, Inc. and ProSomnus, Inc. and formerly served as a Director of Nexa Orthopedics, Inc. and Physician Support Systems, Inc.

Mr. Berkowitz is currently a member of the Leadership Council of the Harvard School of Public Health. MD&DI magazine has recognized him as one of the 100 notable people in the medical device industry.

Richard B. Emmitt

Richard (“Dick”) Emmitt has over 40 years of experience focused on the medical device industry including investment research, investment banking, and principal investing. Mr. Emmitt is a General Partner of The Vertical Group which he co-founded in 1988. With a successful track record in all stages of venture capital and private equity investments, Mr. Emmitt is recognized as one of the medical device industry’s most successful and strategic investors. Among his former investments and BOD memberships are companies in virtually all major sectors of the medical device industry and include: American Medical Systems (acquired by Endo Pharma); ENTrigue Surgical (acquired by Arthrocare); ev3 (acquired by Covidien/Medtronic); SciMed Life Systems (acquired by Boston Scientific); Tornier (acquired by Wright Medical); Wright Medical Group (NASDAQ: WMGI) and Xomed Surgical (acquired by Medtronic). Mr. Emmitt currently serves on the Board of Directors of Biorez, Tepha Medical, MicroVascular Tissues and Monteris Medical.

Ariella Golomb, MD

Managing Director

Dr. Golomb, founder and Managing Director of InnovaHealth Partners, LP, brings expertise in medicine and strategy to the Firm. She manages private equity investments and deal origination and oversees the Firm’s Scientific Advisory Board. These are roles she also held as a Managing Director at HealthpointCapital.

Prior to joining HealthpointCapital, Dr. Golomb was a Project Leader for the Health Care Practice of the Boston Consulting Group, where she advised global life science companies on strategic management issues including product positioning, sales force restructuring and academic medical center alliances. While in business school, Dr. Golomb worked at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in the Women’s Health Marketing division.

Dr. Golomb is a member of the Board of Directors of OrthoSpace Ltd., the Executive Council of the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard School of Public Health and the Trustees Council of Penn Women at the University of Pennsylvania.

John McCormick

Managing Director

Mr. McCormick is a founder and Managing Director of InnovaHealth Partners, LP. His role at InnovaHealth Partners is guiding the Firm’s research and the private equity investment process which he undertook as a founder and Managing Director of HealthpointCapital. He has over 15 years of operational and financial experience in private equity.

Prior to the formation of HealthpointCapital, Mr. McCormick was a Principal at BPI Capital Partners, LLC where he worked closely with Tim Berkowitz starting in 1996. In the 1990’s, he was an Associate with Baker Nye, LP, a $600 million private investment fund. He started his career as a macroeconomic and financial research analyst at the World Bank in Washington, DC.

Mr. McCormick currently serves on the Board of OrthoAccel Technologies, Inc. He is also a member of the Leadership Board of the McGovern Institute of Brain Research at M.I.T. and serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Associates of the Whitehead Institute, also at M.I.T.

Lauren Uzdienski

Research Director

Ms. Uzdienski is an investment and research professional with more than a decade of experience in the medical device, diagnostic imaging and pharmaceutical sectors. As Research Director, Ms. Uzdienski is responsible for developing the Firm’s medical and industry knowledge base in support of investment decisions and portfolio company activities.

In her most recent role at the American College of Radiology, she has collaborated with academic and commercial partners to support the advancement of oncology therapeutics and imaging science through both grant- and industry-funded clinical trials. Her role encompassed managing funding opportunities and protocol development for novel immunotherapy, imaging biomarker and registry trials and included support of regulatory submissions for New Drug Applications. She also contributed to the development of strategic research initiatives and supported the creation of guidelines to promote standardization of imaging in cancer patients.

Previously at HealthpointCapital, Ms. Uzdienski was responsible for industry- and investor-facing communications, writing and editing a daily blog on the musculoskeletal industry. She monitored M&A, new product development and regulatory activity in support of the blog as well as Firm investment priorities.

Ross Julian

Analyst

Mr. Julian is the InnovaHealth Partners, LP analyst. His role involves overseeing the Firm’s analytical functions in support of investment decisions, portfolio company management and investment outcomes. He also spends a portion of his time at the predecessor firm, HealthpointCapital, undertaking similar responsibilities with legacy HealthpointCapital portfolio companies and funds.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Julian was an analyst at the hedge fund Round Table Investment Management, LLC where he was the youngest member of the firm’s investment committee. His duties included financial modeling, security analysis and industry assessments.

While attending Brown University, Mr. Julian was a member of the Undergraduate Student Council, Brown Investment Group and the men’s varsity baseball team.

Tiffany Cheynier

Manager - Investor Relations

Ms. Cheynier is a communications and marketing professional with over 10 years of experience. Ms. Cheynier is responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations and assists the team on all fundraising activities.

In her most recent role at Lazard Frères & Co., Ms. Cheynier worked in the Strategic Planning department where she organized the annual Foursquare Conference which gathers over 300 CEOs from the media, communications, technology and entertainment industries. Prior to joining Lazard, Ms. Cheynier developed her general management experience and was responsible for the creation and implementation of business and marketing plans, budget management, customer relations and human resources.

Ms. Cheynier began her career as a communications manager in Paris, France before moving to New York and joining HealthpointCapital in 2011. While at HealthpointCapital, she was a Marketing Associate and handled investor communications.

Chairman, Carnegie Corporation

Mr. Kean served as two term Governor of the State of New Jersey and subsequently was the president of Drew University. Mr. Kean has served as Chairman of The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the nation’s largest health philanthropy, and is now the Chairman of the Carnegie Corporation of New York. Mr. Kean is also widely known for his role as Chairman of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, otherwise known as the 9/11 Commission.

Mr. Madden has been Co-Managing Partner of Shearman & Sterling and currently serves as Of Counsel in the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Mr. Madden was previously head of the firm’s global Mergers & Acquisitions Group based in New York and Paris. He also advises clients on corporate governance matters.

Patrick S. Miles

Executive Chairman, Alphatec Spine, Inc.

Mr. Miles is Executive Chairman of Alphatec Spine. He joined Alphatec from NuVasive, the spinal implant company with over $1 billion in revenues and market capitalization of $4 billion, where he served as Vice Chairman and President and Chief Operating Officer, among other roles. Mr. Miles has more than 25 years of experience in the orthopedic industry, including prior roles with Medtronic Sofamor Danek and Smith & Nephew.

Pedram Salimpour, MD

Chairman, CEO and co-Founder of Pierce Health Solutions

Dr. Salimpour serves as Chairman, CEO and co-founder of Pierce Health Solutions, a California based company focused on the creation of novel health delivery systems for large, human resource-intensive businesses. Dr. Salimpour serves also as President and three time-appointed Commissioner of the Los Angeles Fire & Police Pensions Board, managing over $20 billion in assets. Previously, Dr. Salimpour co-founded CareNex Health Services which was acquired by Anthem and also acquired Alvarado Hospital in San Diego from Tenet Health Care Corporation.
